Not quite there yet. Everything stays put but I need to figure out the food situation, purchase a few more Arno straps and test the 2L bottle cage I installed last night. Monsoons are coming; !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Bikepacking.com recommends Mountain House food. I’m trying to do this on the SUPER cheap right now though, and would prefer to not bring dishes or silverware. It’s going to be a one night deal, so I don’t need anything crazy. Peanut butter and honey sandwiches are tasty. Any suggestions?

I’ve never eaten the Mtn House stuff, but from my understanding it’s all basically salt, cardboard, and flavoring.
If you’re looking to avoid a stove or dishes, pack a couple Cliff bars or equivalent, and some jerky. An apple or banana or both should pack well if you’re feeling something fruity.
Also, whatever you plan on eating, make sure you do a “test run” at home. The worst possible scenario is that it doesn’t agree with you and you end up with explosive diarrhea in the middle of nowhere.

I can tolerate Clif “Builder bars” which have very high protein and pretty low weight. Regular Clif Bars are totally fine too.
Good point on the test run. A good reason to just go with Clif and/or Builders, but I do have a day trip in mind that could use some food... hmm.
